Publication Date: 2009-11-10

On November 10, 2009 ACET, Inc. was awarded an IDIQ contract by the Smithsonian Institution for consulting services related to the Institution’s efforts in design and construction management, facilities and plant maintenance, security/safety program management, and environmental management support. The contract specifically supports 6 major departments within the Smithsonian’s Office of Facilities Engineering and Operations.

The contract is ACET, Inc’s first-ever 8(a) set aside contract – an agreement representing both the US Small Business Administration and the Smithsonian Institution. Work under the 5-year contract is expected to begin in late December 2009.

“This is an exciting time for us as we expand our portfolio of services.” said Claudine Adams, President and Chief Operating Officer of ACET, Inc. “As a company, we are responding to new Federal Government energy compliance requirements and assisting the Smithsonian Institution’s efforts toward facilities and infrastructure modernization, organizational transformation, and environmental management. Our goal is to support the Smithsonian in becoming a leader among its Federal agency peers.”

To implement this very unique contract, ACET, Inc. worked with an integral partner – The PMC Group, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, led by Dr. Michael Chipley, to assemble the team and develop the technical approach to the far ranging scope of services. Dr. Chipley will serve as subject matter expert and the team’s Program Manager. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to again work with the Smithsonian and to lead a group of exceptionally talented companies with expertise in facilities, sustainability, business transformation, and information technology to support the full scope of Smithsonian requirements.” commented Dr. Chipley.

Other companies joining the ACET, Inc. Team include: AEGIS Security Design, The CADMUS Group, Design+Construction Strategies, Kramer Consulting, and The Protection Engineering Group. Each is known in their field and has earned impressive recognition from Federal and commercial clients.
